Free VPN for iPhone & iPad

A VPN built for iOS that works on both iPhone and iPad. Connect with one tap, no account creation, and it stays out of your way. Also available on Android.

FireVPN on iOS

FireVPN on iOS uses Apple's Network Extension framework, which is the proper way VPN apps work on iPhone and iPad. That means the VPN integrates directly with iOS at the system level -- you get the VPN icon in your status bar, the connection shows up in Settings, and iOS manages the network tunnel. It's not a workaround or a proxy. It's a real VPN connection handled by the operating system itself.

The app works the same on both iPhone and iPad -- it's a universal app, not a stretched phone version. It's small, under 20 MB, so it won't take long to download even on a slow connection. If you have Face ID set up on your device, you can enable app lock so nobody can open FireVPN without your face or passcode. Battery impact is minimal. iOS is aggressive about background apps, and FireVPN is designed to work within those constraints -- it doesn't run unnecessary background processes or keep connections alive when they're not needed.

Getting started on iPhone

Takes less than a minute.

1

Download from the App Store

Open the App Store, search "FireVPN", and tap Get. The app downloads and installs like any other iOS app. You might need Face ID or your passcode to confirm.

2

Allow the VPN configuration

When you first try to connect, iOS will show a system prompt asking to add a VPN configuration. Tap Allow. This is Apple's standard security dialog -- every VPN app on iOS triggers it. You can also authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID if prompted.

3

Tap connect. You're protected.

Hit the connect button on the main screen. The VPN activates instantly and you'll see the VPN icon appear in your status bar at the top. That's it. No account setup, no email verification, nothing else to configure.

What FireVPN does on your iPhone

Why people actually use a VPN on their phone.

  • Secure your connection on public Wi-Fi at cafes and airports

Open Wi-Fi networks are risky. Anyone else on the same network can potentially intercept unencrypted traffic. FireVPN wraps everything in an encrypted tunnel, so even on shared Wi-Fi your data stays private.

  • Access content from different regions by switching server countries

Connect to a server in another country and websites will see you as browsing from there. Handy when you're traveling and want to access services from back home, or when content is restricted by region.

  • Stop your ISP from tracking your browsing on cellular data

Your cellular provider can see every website domain you visit when you're on mobile data. With FireVPN active, all your traffic goes through an encrypted tunnel. Your carrier only sees that you're connected to a VPN server -- not what you're actually doing.

  • Keep your personal data safe on shared networks

Whether it's the Wi-Fi at a hotel, a coworking space, or a friend's house, networks you don't control are networks you shouldn't trust. FireVPN encrypts your connection end to end, so your passwords, messages, and browsing stay protected regardless of the network you're on.
